Germany’s most renowned creative agency relies on Conceptboard – for secure collaboration, creative freedom and efficient working worldwide.
Exceptionally creative, uncompromisingly safe
If there is one agency that has its finger on the creative pulse of the German advertising world, it is Jung von Matt. For over 30 years, the multi-award-winning creative think tank has stood for striking campaigns, emotional storytelling and strategic brand management. With locations from Hamburg to Seoul and a portfolio that includes big names such as Volkswagen, the agency has been designing campaigns that stick in people’s minds for years – and regularly land in the top places at international award shows. Its clients include global industry giants, including numerous renowned car manufacturers – an environment in which not only brilliant ideas but also the highest standards of data protection and information security are required.
Creativity needs protected space
Ideas are Jung von Matt’s capital – and this capital must be protected. Especially in an industry where competitiveness and innovation are closely intertwined, aspects such as IT security, GDPR compliance and server locations in Europe play a key role.
For our customers – especially those in the automotive industry – data security is non-negotiable. And for us as an agency, it is also crucial to reliably protect intellectual property” , explains Stephan Budach, Head of IT at Jung von Matt.
The decision to use Conceptboard was therefore a conscious one – for a collaboration tool that sees security not as an add-on, but as a basic requirement.
TISAX-compliant, transparent and under own control – why Conceptboard was the right choice
As a creative agency with clients from security-sensitive industries such as the automotive industry, Jung von Matt had to check its entire tool landscape for TISAX and ISO 27001 compliance. (TISAX is a testing and exchange procedure for information security in the automotive industry). Among other things, the focus was on the digital whiteboard, which was used throughout the agency for creative collaboration.
The solution used up to that point was unable to meet the requirements – or only at a price that was simply not economically viable. One aspect in particular caused internal discussions: The tool’s data encryption made free porting and full control over customer data impossible. The feeling: digital hostage-taking.
With Conceptboard, we didn’t have to hold our customer and project data hostage – that was a crucial difference for us.” – Stephan Budach, Head of IT, Jung von Matt
Added to this were massive price increases and increasingly restrictive data handling – a mix that ultimately tipped the scales in favor of the change.
When evaluating a new tool, the requirements were clear:
- It had to be TISAX/ISO 27001-compliant
- Data sovereignty must remain with the company
- Comparable visual and collaborative functions
- No hidden restrictions on access to stored content
Conceptboard was able to fulfill all of these requirements – and also impressed with its fair pricing, intuitive user guidance and GDPR-compliant architecture with hosting in Germany.
Audit security is a top priority for us, as our customers are paying more and more attention to information security. With Conceptboard, we are in a position to meet these requirements with confidence. The platform is stable – we’ve had maybe two brief outages so far, which is no longer an argument these days.”
Today, Conceptboard is not just a technical solution at Jung von Matt – it is a central element in digital collaboration that successfully combines security and creative freedom.
Think globally, work in a structured way – the Jung von Matt Academy relies on Conceptboard
Conceptboard is also used intensively for internal development and talent development. The Jung von Matt Academy uses the tool, for example, as part of a cross-location exchange program that enables international employees to gain experience abroad within the agency group. The aim: knowledge transfer, intercultural competence and strong internal networks.
All project participants – from project management to local contacts – work together on a concept board. From legal aspects and cultural framework conditions to travel guidelines – relevant content is collected, visualised and further developed. The board not only serves as a project area, but also as a central knowledge repository and basis for decision-making in the conception phase.
Our teams work across locations on a shared Conceptboard – this creates an overview, transparency and commitment.” – Heike Lorenz, Director People & Academy, Jung von Matt Group
Visual clarity for complex content
In addition to global project organization, the Academy also values Conceptboard for something completely different: visual structuring of complex topics. The ability to display content in an almost infinite digital space, to zoom in and out and to bring order to ‘scurrying’ thoughts is perceived by many users as a real added value in their daily work, as Heike Lorenz also emphasizes:
I find it very helpful that I can visually structure many perspectives and aspects on a Conceptboard – zoom out, see details and get an overview.”
Stable, secure, pragmatic – this is what digital working looks like today
Not only the security aspect and structured working, but also stability and practicality are crucial for the employees at Jung von Matt. Conceptboard runs reliably, remains performant and integrates seamlessly into the daily work routine, also Stephan Budach, Head of IT, JvM is underlining:
If you’re looking for something that will get you through technically in a data-safe way – anywhere in the world – Conceptboard is the tool of choice. You get everything you need to win demanding customers.”
