Globally Unique: Keeping Track with the Object Freezing Feature
In February 2024, Conceptboard introduced a globally unique feature: the Object Freeze. This allows users to lock objects in a whiteboard, which is especially beneficial in large projects, where it’s easy to lose track of them when zooming in or out. The “frozen” objects follow you on your user interface, remaining visible at all times. They can be anchored at the top, bottom, or sides as needed.
The Object Freezing Feature is similar to Excel’s “Freeze Panes” but is more intuitive, moving relative to the axis where it’s positioned in all directions. It remains scrollable, no matter where you are on the board. If the anchors become obstructive, they can be hidden with one click, and just as easily restored. You can find the exact location of any frozen object on the board by double-clicking its locked counterpart in the user interface.
Multiple objects can be fixed simultaneously at the edges. If they overlap, they are stacked, with the nearest object on top.
Step-by-Step Guide: Object Freezing Feature
- Select an object.
- Choose “More” (three dots) in the floating toolbar or right-click on the object.
- Select “Freeze object.”
- You can also set the position here. Choose the edge where you want to freeze the object.
- To unfreeze, click “Unfreeze object.”
